World Environment Day 2021: Snapchat lets you showcase your efforts to save nature using Bitmojis

World Environment Day 2021 will be celebrated on Saturday 5 June. And in the run-up to it, Snapchat has introduced dedicated Bitmojis for you to virtually showcase your efforts and love for nature. There are specific Bitmojis that you can use to water plants, save water, or watch the rains. This year’s World Environment Day is based on the theme of “ecosystem restoration”. The Bitmojis available on Snapchat match the theme and aim to promote habits that can help us clean up our surroundings.

There are up to nine Bitmojis that allow individuals to share their expressions on this year’s World Environment Day. Users can share Bitmojis to promote recycling, gardening, and power saving practices.

There are also Bitmojis that Snapchatters can use while doing something good for nature and their surroundings, like giving plants water or turning off their electrical devices when not in use. These can help raise awareness about saving our environment while continuing to stay indoors until the coronavirus pandemic is over.

Bitmojis work like personalized stickers that feature your virtual avatar. Users can create new Bitmojis through the Bitmoji app or by using the Snapchat app. Once created, Bitmojis can be shared on social media. You can also create a Bitmojis from your Snapchat profile picture.

In 2016, Snap, the parent of Snapchat, acquired Bitstrips, the company that originally launched the Bitmoji app. Since then, the Snapchat app has taken over Bitmoji and made it bigger every year.

Snapchat launched a Bitmoji-based painting game in December that allowed individuals to virtually come together and create paintings in a grid pattern.
