Unsurprisingly, WWE Raw saw its numbers plummet against the Monday Night Football premiere. Last night’s episode had a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 and 1.710 million viewers, down 24.1% and 16.8% from the demo rating of 0.58 last week and 2.054 million viewers. The demo’s rating was the show’s lowest since the July 11 episode also had a 0.44, while the viewership was the worst since the July 4 episode at 1.5693 million.
The drop wasn’t at all unexpected, considering Raw always drops when Monday Night Football returns. The NFL game won the night unsurprisingly with a combined demo rating of 5.01 and 18.291 million viewers between ESPN and ABC, according to Showbuzz Daily. Last night, the 2022 Emmy Awards also aired on NBC, which had a demo rating of 1.09 and 5.924 million viewers. The Emmys had a stronger female demographic than males, which means it likely had less of an effect on Raw’s numbers than MNF.
Raw ranked #7 among cable originals for the night, with the top six programs tied to MNF. Raw’s hourly numbers were:
8 p.m.: 0.45 demo rating (1.783 million viewers)
9 p.m.: 0.48 demo rating (1.821 million viewers)
10 p.m.: 0.45 demo rating (1.525 million viewers)
Raw averages a demo rating of 0.48 and 1.791 million viewers in 2022, compared to 0.53 and 1.80 million viewers for the same period in 2021.
